Anna Scholz @ La Grande Dame

I try not to subscribe to the rules. You know the ones specific for the larger woman. Don’t wear prints, stripes or patterns. Don’t be too colorful. Wear black constantly. Black is great but but breaking the rules can be awesome.

That is exactly why I love these two pieces by Anna Scholz available at La Grande Dame.

The first is a long, belted, striped cardigan. I would wear it with dark-wash jeans and a soft pashmina.

($99.99)

The second piece is a cotton – cashmere, color block wrap dress. For coverage I would either wear it with a light layering tee or a turtleneck.

Modest Price: Fashion Bug (yes Fashion bug)

Moving from NYC to a small town taught me a few things. I had to cook at home more.

AND I had to find fashion inspiration wherever I can. I know that some style lovin’ girls have issues with Fashion Bug but I say don’t allow past prejudices to get in the way of your style.

One thing that I love about FB besides the prices is that they have a variety of sizes within one single store. I like the idea of going with a smaller girlfriend & being able to shop together.

Here are some cute (under $30) dresses that I have my eye on:

A Floral Skirt Dress

A Tiered Chiffon Dress

A Floral Cummurbund Dress

So, what do you think about these FB looks? Would you buy them?

Swim Cover ups = Awesome Spring/Summer Dresses

I fell in love the moment I saw it. A black and white print dress that hit right above the knee. I could see myself in it-it was just my style. My niece nodded with approval. I checked the price- it was under $25! Then I read the tag it read SWIMWEAR.

Well, one girl’s swim cover up is another chica’s gorgeous spring dress. Swim cover ups are perfect for the modest girl who is in desperate need of breathable fabrics as the weather warms.

This is the Avenue swim cover up I fell for last week. Believe me it is incredible on. While the light fabric makes it necessary to wear a tank underneath- it works well in a light layered look. In the dressing room I paired it with a lightweight blazer and jeans. Do you like??? : )

Here are two more Avenue swim cover ups-also under $25 bucks!

I also dig this dress/swim cover up from Monif C. Not too shabby at under $60.
